Let’s build the future together

Ky Holland for House District 9

I’ve been a business and operations manager, non-profit leader, and community organizer for almost forty years. I’m running to shift our state’s priorities, putting Alaskans and Alaskan communities first while supporting emerging industries, education, and our future economy, creating opportunities for current and future Alaskans.

I believe my background of industrial business operations experience in manufacturing, mining, and construction, along with a deep understanding of technical education, project management, and workforce development, and a complementary 20 years of teaching and working as an administrator at the University of Alaska Anchorage, University of Alaska Fairbanks, and the Alaska Pacific University provide with a breadth of experience and skills to work on issues of funding and supporting our civic and private organizations.

I started an organization called Alaska Version 3 that asked the question, ‘What’s Next Alaska?” and learned that Alaskans want a plan and a direction for our state that is more than hoping for good PFDs and a pipeline that is 25% full. It taught me that we need to build a coalition of state leaders looking to the future, not protecting the past. Leaders who understand that Alaskans do not want to buy plane tickets to the lower 48 to visit their kids and grandkids in the future.

Working with existing companies, new ventures, non-profits, local government, and students, I know we are already building our future economy and jobs, and I want to accelerate that transition.  I am excited to continue working to build our Next Alaska, which is good for all Alaskans after being elected.
